Potential Scammer Alert

Just recently, a user under the name of 'goofyBustard8' have sent me a note claiming that the DeviantArt team is offering a $100 gift card from Red Fields as an award. This is probably the first time that I've encountered this scenario, and I was mostly certain that there is something very strange going on. After a brief Google search, it turns out it was a scam after all.
My advice, be very careful of the context provided in any sent notes. If there are any hyperlinks that might look suspicious, do not be tempted to access those links to avoid any potential malware.

No offense, but... There are some people who are getting too fake on DA. They only want posts, comments, or to see how many friends and page views they can get & get popular, get attention & so on! So let's see who will actually re-post this. This is a test to see who's paying attention, This is a test to see how many people in my friends list or watch list actually pay attention to me & are true to me. Copy & re-post in your own journal. A Red Letter Day

Hey guys and girls, I've got something important to say:
You may be wondering why my DeviantArt activities have suddenly
been so low recently. Well, the main reason for this is that I am
now to doing my studies again. This time, it's no longer TAFE anymore.
I am now officially doing a course in Macquarie University.
It's a really hard decision for me on whether or not I should do
a university course or continue doing TAFE courses. And it's very
hard for me to explain all of this in detail too.
Now as you probably all know, I'd love to contribute video game
artwork to the world of DeviantArt, but since I'm now studying
full-time at Macquarie University, I may not be able to interact
on DeviantArt for quite some time. But that does not mean
that I will give up on my deviant journey towards making
good artwork relating to video games.
I will still keep in touch on DeviantArt occasionally, but in the
mean time, you won't be seeing me for a while.
I'd hope that explains my recent inactivity on DeviantArt
and I hope you all understand that why I have to
focus on my studies.
Until then, bye for now, not forever.
